Vindictive Ducks

The duck gave me a good nip today.

Not that that’s notable in any significant way. What was remarkable was that the bite came as a result of an unwanted back scratch – this particular duck is not keen on the back rubs. Again, not remarkable in and of itself. The thing is, the duck came after me probably 30 seconds after the offensive back rub.

“But Andrew…how do you know the duck was retaliating after the fact? That’s ridiculous! You’re ridiculous!”

Because the duck has never bitten me before, that’s how! It was vindictive. There was revenge in his eyes. I can tell.

I have a mark on my arm. First battle scar. So excited. Ducks are awesome!

To all those concerned, I have recovered nicely from the bite. I will never try and pick up these ducks, ever. (They kinda scare me) And I’m not sure if the last comment was meant as an endorsement of getting Steve the Cat into the duck pen to teach them a little respect, but perhaps George the Cat might be better. He likes picking fights with the dog so, for him, a duck ain’t nothing.
